La Pêche Productions was created by Kate Phibbs during her studies at the National Film & Television School, from where she graduated in 2019.

With a background in journalism and broadcast, Kate moved across to producing scripted features, television and documentary in 2016.

Of the eleven shorts that she has produced, there have been numerous awards from some of the world’s leading film festivals. The 16mm experimental short, The Girl With Two Heads, directed by Betzabé Garcia, won best short film at Les Arcs International Film Festival and Morelia International Film Festival, also winning the Orona Award for most innovative short film at the 2018 San Sebastian International Film Festival. It also screened as part of Official Selection during Semaine de la Critique at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. 

The 2019 animation Almost There, directed by Nelly Michenaud was in official competition at the 2019 Edinburgh Film Festival and Animafest Zagreb amongst others as it continues to gather momentum. 
 
The first project to come directly under the La Pêche Productions title, is the comedy short End-O. Directed by Alice Seabright, End-O stars Sophia Di Martino of Flowers and made its world premier at the 2019 BFI London Film Festival.

Under the La Pêche banner, Kate continues to produce shorts, television & feature content to challenge, inspire and entertain.
